What type of haircut should I get for longish hair?

I have a heart-shaped face and my hair falls a little bit below my shoulder. My hair is thick but I also want to keep my hair kinda long. Any ideas on kinds of style that would suit me?What type of haircut should I get for longish hair?
Try

Chin-length or longer styles. Side-parted hair styles. Swept-forward layers around the upper face, gently wispy bangs. A chin length bob is great on your face shape! This creates a balanced look by giving fullness where you need it. You can wear shorter styles, however, if you are a dramatic heart shape you need to leave weight in the back nape area. This will achieve more balance between your dramatic cheekbones and more narrowing chin.

Avoid

Short, full styles that emphasize upper face. Height at the crown. Severe, slicked back looks. If you are a dramatic heart shape, the short full styles with tapered necklines which emphasize the upper face will make you look top heavy. Too much height at the crown will give the appearance of a longer and narrower chin. Just remember if you have a dramatic heart shape face, you have great cheekbones to emphasize! Don't miss the boat by getting a cut which is to top heavy. What type of haircut should I get for longish hair?
Heart Shaped Face Haircuts:

Slightly Swept Bangs

The first style here is a simple multi-layer cut that uses the bangs to slightly enhance the facial features. The crown of the hair is still the focus, thus the lack of curls or extra waviness. The ends are left choppy but frame the face well. A very easy look that many women will find a good change.

Framing the Face

The next style shows how framing the face can increase other facial features. The eyes and cheekbones are lifted by framing the hair around the chin but slightly grazing the cheeks. The hair is highlighted with a few layers and the bangs are parted slightly. No curls or waves here either as the look already brings much appeal. Overall, a very nice medium cut, some women will find great.

Natural Waviness

The last style presented here for medium face shapes, is probably the best of the three. The look is sexy and simple. First, the bangs are slightly swept toward the outer edges, bringing more attention to the eyes and eyebrows. The multi-layers are allowed to flow down with natural waviness allowing the gentle subtleness of the lips and cheeks. A very fabulous look for longer length medium cuts.

Uneven and Choppy Ends

This style is a simple multi-layer hair cut with a little difference as it leaves the Hairstyles For Heart Shaped Faces ends uneven and bouncing. In this style, the crown of the hair is heavy so that there is no extra curls at the ends and bangs are used to enhance the features. This medium length cut, with uneven and choppy ends, enhances the delicate chin and high cheekbones of a heart shaped face. This is an easy-to-maintain look for medium length hair.
i just did the same thing. but i was tired of long hair so i hacked it off :]. now its like an inch above my shoulders with choppy layers all over. it looks really nice so you could give that a try. plus i have thick hair too and its soo much easier to take care of xD
when it grows longer u should get it layered with a v shape in the back. :) that's what my friend has.it looks really good!! :) Thats what im gonna get when my hair grows out longer....i have thick hair too.

:) good luck!!!!
