Whats the best short haircut to get for someone with thick wavy hair and bangs?

I'm getting my hair cut tonight and I want it short and cute/spunky. My hair is thick and wavy/curly, and I have bangs that I would like to keep. Suggestions?Whats the best short haircut to get for someone with thick wavy hair and bangs?
Unfortunately, those of us with thick, wavy hair have a hard time pulling off shorter hairstyles. If you cut your hair too short, it will just get even more wavy and thick. Whereas, if you let it grow out, it will appear straighter. Ask a professional hairstylist what kind of styles work best with thick, wavy hair. I dry my hair with a round brush and straighten it everyday. Over time, this has trained my hair to be straighter and much more cooperative.

The best thing to do is talk to your stylist.

Not everyone can pull over every hairstyle, it all depends on the type of hair you have.Whats the best short haircut to get for someone with thick wavy hair and bangs?
keep it long or at least shoulders length.
I would get a razor cut, its going to thin your hair out and also give you that spunky look you want, I would also suggest using good ceramic hair straigtener and maybe a little texturizing spray to keep it smooth and flat. Good luck:)
do it like bloodrayne!

super hot
short just isnt really that cool if its thick to begin with, seriously try and keep it long as possible.

maybe cut some from underneath to lighten it up a bit and try and straighten a little but long hair just loooks better
Ask your hairdresser, also most places have books with styles you can look at. Pick a few styles and ask your hairdresser what the best style would be for your hair.

My hair is wavy, thick as well. I straighten it each morning to get it straight. Looks much better and doesn't take long... What you can do is cut the back short and spike it out and have the front long and cut up diagonal to meet up with the length in the back...really hard to explain..sorry. Thats what I had and this is a picture of me growing it out about a year ago!

What kind of a haircut should I get?

What is the best haircut for really thick wavy long hair on a oval face?

i think you should cut ur hair up to ur shoulder .. and then use the '; BAD DAY MORNING TIGHTING HAIR SPRAY'; . . . buy it and use it in the morning .. omg ur hair would look so so so so so so pretty. becuz she BAD DAY MORNING TIGHTING HAIR SPRAY makes the hair really nice. hope this helps you =]What is the best haircut for really thick wavy long hair on a oval face?
Well maybe a 180 angle cut, or maybe even a 90 angle cut. You might want to layer out your hair which would be the 180 angle cut, and because you have an oval face you should use a center part because it works better.
I have hair like that that I have slightly layered. This allows for the curls to stay some what seperated and it is a lot easier to maintain.

What is the best haircut for thick wavy hair?

I have really thick long wavy hair, but i have no idea of how i want to cut it.Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!What is the best haircut for thick wavy hair?
My hair sounds just like yours what i do is i get my hair layered and thinned and straightend and it looks amazingWhat is the best haircut for thick wavy hair?
Do it a cute bob... you can flat iron it but it looks cute w/ the wavy look to. Just add curly gel after you wash and it'll be a sexy wet look. Good luck:)
Swept bangs and a lot of layers in hair. :D

That way you can pull it off wavy, and when you style it with an iron too!

:)
i have thick curly hair and i usually go to a little longer than shoulder lenght with layers

What's the best haircut for a heart face shape?

I not sure if i should get bangs or what and i want to keep it long still. And I have straight brown hair. What's the best haircut for a heart face shape?
Bangs can be very pretty and cute if you leave your hair down or styled. However, if you like to keep your hair up, you may want to get long bangs so that you do not have to worry about pinning them down. Personally, it is best to get bangs cut to your chin. This way, it is long enough for you to pull it back in a ponytail but is also stylish. If you are uncertain about the idea of getting short bangs, then you should get your hair angled. This way it won't take much time to grow out if you do not like it. Before you get it cut, ask the hairdresser what they believe looks best. I hope this helps :)

Remember to think of the following things:

~Do you want it to frame your face?

~Do you want it to add volume or thin it out?

~Are any different hair products needed to style it?

  • Why do i take so long to make decisions regarding my haircut?

I have rather long locks for a male, and was considering a chop. I scour through the internet for ideas, and it takes forever.

Do you find, that after having longer hair for a long it while becomes an almost a religious/spiritual part of yourself?

Or should i just declare hell to these strands of keratin? Why do i take so long to make decisions regarding my haircut?
Hair is one of those things that really defines how a person looks, which is why we tend to be so sensitive about it. Have you ever seen a woman burst into tears after taking off 5 inches of hair? That's why. You pretty much just have to pick something that you think will look good, go to a decent hairdresser who will tell you if it won't, and just get it done. I am always stressed before getting my hair cut and I feel fine as soon as I see it. It's just that instinct to avoid change. Why do i take so long to make decisions regarding my haircut?
its just what you are used to. as humas we dont really like drastic changes and if you take pride in you hair, like anything , it can be hard to change.
That is one one the first things people notice is your hair. If it is too long, too short, not washed, frizzy, too much gray, straight or curly. So go ahead and take as long as you want to decide.
i decided to do something to make my self esteem plummet i cut off all my hair...im a girl...take as long as you wanna take
There is nothing religious nor spiritual in having long hair
no = not really. but hair is important it makes or breaks you thats probs why. a persons hair is their crwoning glory

My 14 month old son is about to have his first haircut. What are some good ways to keep a lock of his hair?

I thought about putting it in a ziploc baggy to put in his baby book, but that doesn't look very nice.My 14 month old son is about to have his first haircut. What are some good ways to keep a lock of his hair?
You know those gadgets that you can buy to laminate documents and other items that you want to keep? They sell them I think at office supply places like Staples etc. and WalMart might even have them. I think they are just called ';laminators'; (you might check on the net for info.) I've known people laminate all kinds of keepsakes inside the special plastic casing that you use with a laminator. Lock of hair preserved airtight this way, ought to keep it from deteriorarting, and should preserve the color too. Just a suggestion.

I don't have any idea what they cost, but I believe there are places (probably, again, an office supply place) where they'll laminate something for you for a small charge.

Another idea I just had was to take two flat pieces of very clear plastic, lay the lock of hair between them. Run a bead of glue around the edges of the lower bit of plastic, then press the edges of the upper piece to it, flattening the two as tight as you can, to express all the air. Lay something heavy on top and let the glue set for about 48 hours. A do-it-yourself lamination job. If you're a mite handy with the sewing maching, you could cover the edges of the plastic with two strips of ribbon, stitched together, in a double line of stitching along both edges of the ribbon, encasing the edges of the plasticMy 14 month old son is about to have his first haircut. What are some good ways to keep a lock of his hair?
We have a place here that specializes in kid's haircuts and they do a bunch of stuff for the first one (certificate, lock of hair, before and after pictures, balloon, etc). They use hairspray to keep the hair together and then put it in a small plastic bag - like another poster mentioned about a jewelry bag. The hairspray really helps to keep it together :)
Look around craft stores and in the scrapbook section. I would suggest maybe looking for a small shadow box to keep it in.
Place it in a ziploc bag or an envelope.
get yourself some mod-podge and lay the hair how you want it in the book and use a foam brush and brush it on. this will dry clear and will preserve the hair for a lifetime. also try to do two or three coats and let dry each time. place a piece of wax paper on the back of the page you are putting the hair so it doesn't moisten the other pages..i dont think it will but just to be safe. good luck and happy holidays=)
My mother just took a lock of my hair and taped it in my baby book. I was surprised it actually stayed put. You're right, Ziploc baggies don't look very nice in a baby book. I like the ribbon idea too. Hope you find a solution.

    Happy Holidays!
You can always keep it in an envelope for more of an elegant look instead of a Ziploc bag. But if you really want to do something big, put it in a shadow box, or locket, you won't be able to keep it in the baby book though.
You could tie a baby blue ribbon around a few locks of hair and then have the barber cut it.

I remember my mom doing something like that to me when I was a kid (red ribbon), it was for school for some reason...
If you really want to keep the hair I would still suggest a bag, you can get small jewelry bags at the craft store. It needs to be kept out of the air and humidity, baby hair that is just tied up with a ribbon will get very brittle and break apart. You could also put jewelry bag into a small silk bag if you want to make it look nicer. The other option is putting the lock of hair into a locket, which used to be very common. Hair on one side, picture on the other.
Wal-Mart has a gift set with baby's 1st piggy bank and a little book and stuff and also it has a little tin ';baby's 1st hair cut'; it's adorable and that's what I put my daughter's in.
you know how they seal papers, maybe you can with hair.
take a before pic an after picture and his favourite rattle,,and the biggest lock of his hair you can get. arrange them in a shadow box and hang them in his room.
    Ditto on the ribbon.

What is the advisable haircut/hairstyle for a male with a disproportionate head?

My head is too big for my scrawny body...

Something low maintenance would be betterWhat is the advisable haircut/hairstyle for a male with a disproportionate head?
i think that added hair wont help the size of your head, so if you have a shag, either get a buzz cut or keep it short, most like Brad Pitt.

Also eat some food and build muscle. What is the advisable haircut/hairstyle for a male with a disproportionate head?
I agree with the above answerer.

Moe haircut. From Larry, Curly, Moe actors. Straight short cut just above the ears all around. Shaved in back. 1/2 down scalp to nape of neck.
Most people's heads are proportionate to their body. If you think you're scrawny you probably need to eat better and put on a little weight. Then look at rock musicians. Some of them are really, really thin and their hair ranges from long and shaggy to shaved heads. Pick what makes you feel attractive. Sometimes it's more about how we feel about ourselves than how we actually look.
try wearing a beenie with a vertical black and white, zig zag pattern .The pattern affects the eye's of people who are looking at you and it will appear that your head is smaller.A warning don't wear it around epileptics,as it could cause them to fit.Best of luck

What happens if a recruit shows up to Paradise Island or San Diego with a high and tight haircut?

If a recruit were to show up to boot camp, and already have a hair cut, what would happen to said recruit. What happens if a recruit shows up to Paradise Island or San Diego with a high and tight haircut?
Recruits don't rate a ';high and tight';. Actually, you can't have anything other then a shaved head until you graduate boot camp. In other words, you'll get thrashed and they'll shave your head any wayWhat happens if a recruit shows up to Paradise Island or San Diego with a high and tight haircut?

They would cut off what little remains. About a third of those that report on any given day have already got what they considered to be an appropriate haircut but the marines use a clipper to cut it uniformly short to about one fourth of an inch. BTW, I assume you mean Parris Island.
When I was in, they shaved everyone's head, even if it was already shaved.

Be the way, they charged us for the haircuts in boot camp.
A high and tight is not the standard bootcamp haircut. They shave your head.
They shave his head totally so he looks like everyone else.
Probably get the rest of it shaved off.

What kind of emo haircut should i get?

Please suggest emo cuts but nothing to extreme. I've looked on the internet and asked my friends. I would like suggestions with medium hair lengths. I hate short hair. I would like to get my hair cut in a couple of days. I have medium hair already, and I know dying my hair is not an option. My mom won't let me.What kind of emo haircut should i get?
if you want an emo haircut. just get bangs cut into your hair. get them to cover your eye. =) make the bangs heavy and sweep them across your eye or something. =)What kind of emo haircut should i get?
You should get really extreme layers, so its thin at the bottom, and short, layers ontop. To style, put moose on all of your hair, and straiten it. Then totally tease the shortlayers in the back and also get intense bangs!!! Comment me back if you don't know what teasing or intense bangs are. %26lt;3

How bout no emo cut....they look horrible and the fad will die out anyway
have your hair cut short like a boy have the top brown and the bottom of it bleach blonde
Just don't get it cut in an emo style .. seriously.. i personally am sick of all the emo wannabe's ... sorry.. just get it cut with a side fringe or something.. just not cover your eye! and what are bangs aswell?
If you are actually considering getting an emo cut, just shave your head instead.

    It'll look a lot better.

I went through that phase like 5 or 6 years ago and it just looks dumb.
here is a good thing that wuld work

    long bangs in ur face!
Bowl cut so you can look like other emo stooges. I guess nobody is an individual anymore.
One that is long and covers one eye, dyed black and streaked with white.
i find this very stupid but thats just my opinion oh well come up with your own style instead of copying so yeah i'll look way betta
you should get some choppy blunt layers and a fringe
    .Get shoulder length.

Unless she's a rebel little girl and wants some mohawk or something there is nothing for a girl that age with short hair. Aside from like a chin to shoulder length bob. A pixxie cut and a cute bob would look cute
    NO!!!!

Please don't cut her hair! If she really wants it short take her to a kids stylist. There are a ton of salons that are especially for kids.

It'll be worth it when you all like her hair and she doesn't hate you for making her look like a boy!
Why would you cut long hair off I take that as a insult!!!
Can't go wrong with a mullet
She's 12, let her decide. Also she's at an age where she's going to start to worry about how she looks, spend the money and take her to a real salon. It would be fun for her and she'll feel very special.
you can do her hair like kiera knightley.her hair looks good.
oh wow, she's twelve years old! let her decide what style she wants!

but remind her to cut it AT LEAST as long as shoulder length. otherwise kids are gonna be mean to her.
    A bob is cute!!!
I think shoulder length and about 3 inches below is good 4 twelve and under.
You can sell her long hair at: http://hairbuyer.com
it depends on what face shape she has. if it's oval you can do whatever you want to it and it'll still look gr8.

but make sure ur daughter wants her hair to be cut. she probably has limits to how short she wants it and how it looks.

talk to her first and then go to a hair salon and ask them what they think would look good on her.
Give her a graduated bob. They're the cutest short haircuts!

first of all,did your daughter agree to this? second...a bob would be good or maybe a basic very short haircut...there are videos on youtube if you need more help...and it also depends on her face shape...can`t you show a picture or something to get an idea of what would be good for her?
im 13 now and last year i got my hair cut to my shoulders. my hair is curly so it would seem shorter. if you have straight hair the shoulder lenght should be good to yo shoulders. if your getting your hair cut short like me don't do it in the summer bc then you can't put it up if its hott out. if you get your hair cut short make it so you can put it behing your ears. hope i helped!!!

How can i Convince my parents to letting me get a haircut?

I have long hair and I want to get my haircut up to my shoulder I don't know what to do! My Mom says ask my Dad and my dad says he likes my hair! I have no idea what to do???

Can someone please help me! I'm 12 ! I got a haircut about month ago and my hair is really thick so I use a flat iron every week! How can i Convince my parents to letting me get a haircut?
well my best answer is to ask your dad again but politely, and if he says he like your hair the way it is then tell him i know you do,but you might like it even better shoulder length. and i think it will be easier for me to manage and it will be healthier since i won't have to flat iron it a much. so you can think about it and tell me or please dad may i?

all of it's good so i hope i helped and you get your hair cut and cut it cute! : )How can i Convince my parents to letting me get a haircut?
I wasn't allowed to cut my hair for years either. I think I finally was allowed to, after my mother decided to cut hers, and then he actually liked it, so what I did to my hair, didn't matter as much. I think I was about 16, then. But, since i cut it to my chin, i haven't been able to grow it back out again. But, I'm trying again, and think I will, this time. Anyway, eventually, some day you'll be allowed to. Until then, you just got to wait till the opportunity awaits.
Keep asking. Parents need to be persuaded.

If you keep asking and they don't relent you could do something desperate and cut it yourself. It would be crooked but then your mom would take you to the hair place to get it evened out.

(Please don't tell them I suggested you do this.) But first, just keep bugging them.
Look up pictures on the internet of what kind of cut you really want.

Show them to your parents, and if your dad says ';I like your hair'; say that your getting sick of how long it is and how long it takes to make it look nice and remind him he doesn't have to deal with it 24/7.
I think it's unfair that you can't get a haircut only because your dad likes your hair. It's YOUR hair, so you should be able to make your own decisions about it. I think you should just tell him why you want your hair shorter, like it's easier to deal with it, or something like that.
Tell him that it's your hair, and you're the one who has to manage it, and that you'd like shorter hair that you don't have to spend so much time on just to look nice.

If that doesn't work, just try cutting it yourself. Then your parents can't do anything about it.
My hair is thick too.Except I dont want a haircut. And guess what im 12 too!!!!Just cut it yourself or.Tell your parents you will cut it yourself if they say dont let you get it proffesionally
i think it should be your decision since its your hair. Tell your parents that your already twelve years old and you think it is important that you begin to make some of your own choices. The shorter it is, the puffier it will be but if you straighten it, it should look cool. The short hair is in style now!! good luck
Cut it yourself (if you think that you can do it the way you want it to be done) i would do the same. i would do it behind their back. not trying to make you do it. just an option :)
get scissors and cut it a bit longer than you really want it. do a horrible job and they will have to take you to get a real hair cut.
Tell them it is your hair and you want to style it the way you want. It's not like you're getting a Mohawk.
    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AgsCivKAd6NaLES2JE4Ut4vsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20090228084133AArL9N1
once you are 18 or have your own money to pay for your haircut then you can do what you want. Until then you are under your parents rule.
If you got your hair a month ago, you don't need another haircut just yet. Wait another month.
Tell your mom its going to be easier to style each week.
Book a haircut and take your friend(s) with you.
say you want it bad and if they don't get you it you won't talk to them again
we gotta find a new website...sorry for not actually answering your questionnnnn....but ...no one answers questions on this site anymore...unless it's really short and easy
maybe go somewhere between shoulders and where it is now
tell the truth why u want to do that.

What is a good haircut to have while I am trying to grow my hair out?

i already have light side bangs, should i make them thicker or grow them out. i want something that will look great while i am trying to grow out my hair. What is a good haircut to have while I am trying to grow my hair out?
First let me tell you that cutting your hair doesn't make it grow since hair grows from the roots. Cutting your hair makes it shorter, period. If you have split ends and need it, there is no way around it, but don't get healthy hair cut just because you think it will grow faster. It won't.

Now, how to cut it while it is growning out depends on your definition of growing out.

If you eventually want it all one length, get a very short bob, if your facial features agree with that. This will get it mostly one length, and the bangs will almost be caught up with the rest already.

If you eventually want long hair with layers, get the sides angled up to meet the ends of your bangs. This will frame your face or if you prefer, you can style it away from the face for a 'Charlie's Angels' look. Again, in this way you won't really have bangs anymore. As your hair gets longer, they just blend in to become your shortest layer.

Hope this helped you! What is a good haircut to have while I am trying to grow my hair out?
ooh i had this too. i got LONG layers on my hair, i too was trying to grow it out some, but it REALLY needed to be trimmed, i had lots of split ends. but i also wanted my hair to look long...long layers should do it. i like the side bangs though, i have them too...
layers are always best to even it out while growing it long. Ask your hair dresser what would look best with your facial structure.
    Um.

    See. You already messin up...

You should always trim your dead ends of your hair that'll make your hair grow. Keep it healthy. Take Vitamins. Was your hair once a week.

For more information hit me back...

    kay bye!!!!!
Go with what you think will be the next in thing. Not only will you have fun doing it but you will think of yourself as a trend setter and hey baby if you think you look good then others will too. Be brave and take a chance, hair can always grow back and you will discover something new about yourself. Guys like a girl that is willing to experiment a little without fear of missing the fashion mark you may be setting a new one.
well idk what u really look like so...go w/ the hair style that looks good on most girls...layers...it will look in style and u can let it your hair grow out
    Man I feel for you.

I just grew my hair out from about an inch to past my shoulders. Boy did it take FOREVER.

What I did was pick out about 10 different styles from magazines. Then I would put them in order by the length of hair. Then I would simply do what it took to get it to that length, meaning like trim the neckline, sideburnes, keep the back and sides short...blah, blah, blah. It was actually kinda fun.

Because I made it a point to pick some styles that i never would've had the balls to do before. And I found out that there are some really great styles you never would've pictured on yourself, looking smoking hot.

What is a good haircut for a round face?

I want to get a new cute%26amp;cool haircut. My face is round and i have a lot of hair. Right now the front sides of my hair are layered. What is a good haircut for a round face?
a round face needs fullness and height on top and under ears rather than all aruond face :side banges a cute bump im sure youve seen some before and about shoelder length curled under it would be soo cuteWhat is a good haircut for a round face?
typically the goal is to get as close to the illusion of an oval face. So if that being the goal you should have tight sides and height on top. But I am a little confused since you say the front and sides are layered I am assuming that the back is not and that sounds like it would look like a mullet. Try to find one of those salons that can download your face and put a few styles onto it to see what you feel the most comfortable with. But I still say fullness on top and tight sides would look the best
I guess you could layer and get side bangs it'll look awesome... or those cuts I forgot the name but it stars shorter at the back and longer at the front they're really cute.
i was born with probably the most-round face of all time. I got a haircut very similar to my avatar. I dyed my hair red, then I got a VERY layered bob that is just off of my shoulders, I straighten it so , all of the layers are visible. I got side swept bangs. This doesn't make my face look as round.

Go to http://sheknows.com/about/look/2280.htm to see if your face really is round, and if it really isnt it will have the perfect hairstyle for any shape.

    Good Luck!

What is an appropriate amount to tip for a $60 mens haircut?

This is *WAY* more than i've ever regularly paid for a haircut, but I actually really like the cut and am in a position where the money isn't a big deal. I'm clueless about the tip though. Please help! What is an appropriate amount to tip for a $60 mens haircut?
Probably 10 bucks. But I'll give you a tip -- no more poofy 60$ haircuts. It's not appropriate for a man, and it's driving the price up for us normal gents. What is an appropriate amount to tip for a $60 mens haircut?
The same as for any service received between 15-25% so roughly 10-15 $ depending on how much you enjoyed your experience as well as your cut.
For a so-so job, 5 bucks. For a good job, a nice conversation %26amp; you like the person- $10. .
yIf the owner does the cut, they are usually exempt from being tipped, otherwise $15-$20 for an excellent haircut, less if you are not pleased or they did a sloppy job and one way of letting them know, other than verbally, is like ! or $2. but in all fairness,if it is their first time with you as a client, you should quietly discuss what you don't like about it and give them another chance just as you would like that treatment if it were you.And compassion if it is their first week or so on the job because, in spite of excellent training before they get to work on the floor and develop their own clientele, it is pretty nerve racking. Some people are just hard to please no matter how hard one tries.

If you don't usually afford such high price cuts, go to a place that is not into that. A series on t.v. of a guy starting his own business charged up to $400 for style/cut and now works on models and movie stars. Can;'t remember his name but he was an emotional mess.He really messed up when asked to show his products on QVC as he alone wants to be in charge, period!
I pay at least 20% when I get my hair done, and I really like the job that the gal does. So for your cut I'd pay at least $12.
15% would be a standard tip, so that would be $9. Some would even give $10-15 if they really like it but I would say $9 would be the minimum standard if you like your cut.
the answer to your dilemma is 18-20%. unless they messed it up, in that case ask them to fix your hair under your direction, after that the tip is up to you

Once, I got one where it looked like this chick had slapped a bowl on my head and shaved everything around it.Have you ever had the misfortune of receiving a truly horrible haircut?

fortunately, no. i've had few that i'm not overly pleased with, but not sod bad that i couldn't leave the house or anything. no one else even noticed, i was just being picky, coz i'm just like that.
Yes. That's why I now wear a hat.

I am getting a haircut tommorow. I am getting layers. Is it true lock of love wont exept layered hair?

I want to give my hair to Locks of Love. Is it true they won't exept hair that is layerd?I am getting a haircut tommorow. I am getting layers. Is it true lock of love wont exept layered hair?
ALL of the hair you donate has to be atleast 10 inches, so if you get it layered and part of it is like 9 inches and some of it is 11, it wont work

if you really want to donate to locks of love, tell them to put your hair in a ponytail and cut off 10 inches. with your remaining hair, layer and style as you please.I am getting a haircut tommorow. I am getting layers. Is it true lock of love wont exept layered hair?
well if you have very long hair right now, they will put it in a ponytail and chop it off bluntly. after they have the hair that they need for locks of love, they put it in a bag. after that you can have your hair styled however you want.
i believe you need about 12 to 13 inches in order to donate so they will tie it back snip then layer. i did this once but ended up getting 16 inches cut off just in case.
i donated my hair 2 locks of luv and i had a whole bunch of layers. they still let me! i dont think u will have a problem

What's a cute haircut for teens with round faces?

I'm a teen, Asian, thick black hair. :) My hair length is medium and i have side bangs on each side that's a little longer than my nose. I want to have a haircut that has swept bangs and at least as long as the bottom of my eye. I don't want to cut my hair too short, but what I'm really looking for is the bangs. What's a cute haircut for teens with round faces?
Well the most common hairstyle that does have side swept bangs meant for it is the bob. Shorter in the back but still long in the front, a great illusion haircut. Tends to look good on any sort of facial structure too. When getting your bangs cut though you should ask the hairdresser to ease your bangs into whatever sort of haircut you end up having, to make it look more natural. hope this helps :]What's a cute haircut for teens with round faces?
short like to the chin. It would be cute wit a little curl at the end.

    The breeze will feel nice.
u should get layers cuz then u dont get over heated.
it depends on what your faceshape is. im getting my hair cut for the summer too and mine is about the same length as yours now. i think im going to get it cut to a little shorter than shoulder length (not quite a bob).

i wouldn't go to drastically short because you might regret it! but if you cut the three inches or so off and make it shoulder-length then it's short enought not to make you too hot and long enough to put back into a pony-tail.

    hope this helps!
shaved head up there is hawt.

seriously though having a shaved head is the most excellent feeling ever. don't do it though unless you are super hot and have a good head shape. Most guys can't pull it off, and it's easier for us than for the girls.
well, i used to have about the same length of hair, and a week ago, i cut it into wuts called a ';sassy bob'; and, if you comb it the right way, it frames your face.

How much is your haircut...and how often do you go to a salon?

If you have kids, how much is their haircuts, and is there a price difference for boys and girsl?

Does your salon charge more for women's haircuts than for men's? Thanks ahead for your response!

PS. What region of the country do you live? How much is your haircut...and how often do you go to a salon?
Hi! I hate to admit this, but I have my husband cut my hair. I live in the southeast region of the U.S. Haircuts for women start at around $40 bucks a piece and up in a private salon (versus a WalMart cut). My hair grows so quickly, I would spend all my beauty cash on hair dye and cuts! LOL! My husband is able to get his haircut for about $10...I've often wondered about men vs. women haircut prices...My husband usually gets more cut off and the style requires more precision, yet I get charged more!?! I get a salon haircut about 2 or 3 times a year, then let my husband cut my split ends. He almost cries everytime I ask him to do this! How much is your haircut...and how often do you go to a salon?
i live in london. im a hairdresser and charge 26 pounds around 50 dollars for a mans cut and 35 pounds around 70 dollars for a ladies cut. children 18 pounds in dollars thats about 30 dollars.

    Pamela C ,

You are not going to believe me on this but , i pay only two

dollars , i go to Salon once a month , and i pay just 2 dollars

including the tips too i swear , i live in Egypt , where

One Dollar = Five Egyptian Pounds ,

Its Heaven here for prices right !!!

Good Luck come and visit Sharm El Sheikh
    65 dollars every 6 weeks
I live across the bridge from Washington, DC. Prices are not that awful here, except for real estate, which is still going up.

I quit paying money to the greedy, blood-sucking barbers. I got a machine at the drugstore and now I give myself a crewcut whenever I need one. The secret is to go slowly. If you go too fast it won't do much cutting. When I finish cutting all my brown hair off, all I have left is this short white stuff. I put brown beard and mustache color on it. I always have a clean shave except on top of my head. Your hair has to be dry when you put the stuff on, or nothing will happen. After about five minutes, you wash it off.

When I was about 26, I was in a theater where they were getting ready to put on a play. One of the actors sprayed some stuff on his hair to make it white. I saw him age 20 years in 10 seconds. I never forgot that.
I dont have kids but I go to my stylist (im going Thursday) every year when I get a new hairstyle and every month to get it trimmed. I pay ALOT (well my mom) to get my hair like completely styled.

**EDIT** I live in New York by the way!
i live in india...i go 2 a l'oreal salon and prefer the same stylist for 6 yrs now...i pay approximately 500 rupees...that is 12 or 13 dollars...reasonable compared to the price standards in other countries like the US..The service is great..my stylist was trained at l'oreal and toni and guy..

ive noticed that men are charged a lil less for their haircuts..my brother pays a lot less than i do..n for kids its reasonable too...but there are many fancy salons for kids these days..n it can be pricey too..
I'm actually going to the salon in a few minutes to get a haircut, I'll come back %26amp; edit :)

    //

    EDIT!

Okay I just got my haircut.

My haircut was around 25 dollars or so with tax.

Yes there is a price difference, men's haircuts are less costly then women's haircuts but that makes sense, since men have shorter hair.

    I'm from Canada
I live in Dallas, TX. The last time I got my haircut it was $15, but the next time I get it cut it will be about $50 at least. Never pay for a haircut under $50 the chances of it being good are slim to none, dear.
I pay $60 for my haircut which includes the blowout and that is why I dont go often. But when she cuts my hair, it is totally sexy. I am sure men are cheaper, but I never see any there. I am in the North Jersey area.
I pay anywhere from $9.00-$11.00 for my haircut. I don't go to a salon I just go to a barber shop. I get a haircut once a month. I live in Nebraska.
New England, $26.00 for a wash, cut and blowdry, $20.00 for a child, plus $5.00 tip, every six weeks.
i usually go to a salon and i spend 65 to 75 on haircut depending on how i want it..
I splurge and get the best in the business - A guy at Regis who is very expensive but absolutely delivers. His haircuts are 70.00 each
I live on the East Coast...I pay $25 for my hair cut if I'm not coloring it. I go every 4-6 weeks...I think it is worth it though! Last time I went I cut off 12 inches and sent it to Locks of Love.
I live in Texas am a 30 year old male and me and my son both get our Hair cut at a place called 4.99$ Hair. It's run by two Vietnamese ladies and they do charge more for females but I wouldn't get my girls hair cut their because it's true you get what you pay for. I get it done every other Thursday. I get it cut 1';on the sides and back and scissor cut on top.
I live in Georgia. I get my hair trimmed every 6 weeks, I pay 13 dollars (not including tip).

10 dollars for kids 10 and under. Men and women are the same price.
I trim it here and there. She's too young to care about what's on her head right now. She always looks cute though. I'm in Los Angeles, CA. Women's hair cuts are usually 10 to 15% more then men's here (that's without the additional services) tipping is optional and dependent on cut.

  • How old was your baby boy when he got his first haircut?

My son is 9 months old today. His hair is still short in the back, but very long in the front. I am thinking about cutting it but at the same time I hate too. It is so cute when he gets hot and it curls. We all have stick straight hair. His hair hangs down in his eyes in the front though when it isn't pushed over to the side, which it is hard to keep it that way. My mom is very old-fashioned and thinks you shouldn't cut a little boy's hair until after their first birthday. I was just wondering when other people cut their son's hair. How old was your baby boy when he got his first haircut?
My son is 8 and and half months and I've given it a trim twice already! He was born with quite a lot of hair on top which never fell out so when the rest grew I cut it a little to even it up. And now that it lies forward, it is almost in his eyes so it wont be long before I'm getting the scissors out again! How old was your baby boy when he got his first haircut?
My son is 8.5 months old as well, and we have gotten him two full blown hair cuts already, and he has another set for next Wednesday. It does make them look like little men, not babies though ... so be prepared!!!

I got a terrible haircut. How do I make it appear longer and/or grow faster?

Ack. So I donated 10 inches of my hair to locks of love today. And now i've gone from gorgeous wavy hair to the little girlwith the bob in atonement, only flippier. It looks really awful and it's way too short. Is there anything that will make it grow faster? What can I do while it's growing to give it the illusion of being longer?

Thanks. :(I got a terrible haircut. How do I make it appear longer and/or grow faster?
There are some things you can do to make your hair grow faster,Everybody has a maximum rate of hair growth,if your body is not in good health, your hair will only grow at the minimum rate, here are the necessary steps:

1.Don't wash your hair everyday, washing your hair everyday puts unnecessary stress on the hair, the more you wash, the more your hair dries out and breaks, wash your hair twice a week with an emu oil moisturizing shampoo %26amp; conditioner. It is very important that you find an emu oil shampoo %26amp; conditioner because emu oil gets rid of scalp inflamation, scalp inflamation denies the hair follicles the necessary blood flow it needs in order to grow fast.

    http://www.treasuredlocks.com/emu-oil-sh

2.Keep an oil moisturizer in your hair,it's very important to keep some kind of oil in your hair because wind and dust in the air will make your hair dry and brittle and easier to break,my favorite oil moisturizer is Cantu Shea Butter oil moisturizer,it is kinda greasy, but you can put more or less depending on how you style your hair on that day, find an oil moisturizer that works for you.

3.Take care of your hair from the inside, take a multi-vitamin with minerals and amino acids/proteins daily, there are plenty of great vitamins out there, you just have to find what works for you, have a look at these:

    http://www.salonweb.com/hair_vitamins.ht

    http://www.folica.com/Vitamins_133_1.htm

    http://www.puritan.com/pages/iq.asp?xs=A

    http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw/103

4.Don't brush your brush hair, brushing rips and tears at the hair folicle, use a comb with wide teeth instead, and wear your hair up whenever possible, your clothing, especially cotton clothing can cause splits ends.Every time you wear your hair down, you are exposing it to environmental damage. It is exposed to the air, which will dry it out. Wind will cause tangles, which in turn causes more handling and more damage. Your hair will rub against your clothes which dries it out even further.

5.Massage your scalp, this will increase blood flow to the hair folicles,I love to hang off of the sofa or my bed and massage my oil moisturizer into my scalp.Sleep on a satin pillowcase to prevent damage from tossing and turning,If you have fine, thin hair, stay away from volumizing and thickening shampoos, they dry out your hair, stay away from hair accessories with metal in them, that will definitely rip and tear your hair, keep heat styling to at a minimum,no more than twice a week,if you must do this more than twice a week, find a good deep conditioning treatment, like this one:

    http://www.ariva.com/jokinhy85oz.html

Drink lots of water and eats plenty vegetables!I got a terrible haircut. How do I make it appear longer and/or grow faster?
You did a good thing, and all good things have a consequence. Good Job though.
Basically people say to keep it away from heat, and trim split ends. But despite that, too make it look longer you can straighten it.
easy. All you need to do is straighten it, it makes your hair sometimes up to 2 inches longer if u have really thick or wavy hair. Also jello has gelatin in it which makes your hair and nails grow faster
sry but try headbands and clips and gel to play with it and give it more zing while u wait a little while
    wear a hat
try to use different shampoos and condittioner it worked for me! everyday it will make it grow faster BUT DONT STRAIGHTEN IT ALOT IT WILL DAMAGE IT!!! oh and try clip in exstensions
well if ur hair is curly then straighten it if its straight then still straighten it it will make it look longer and if that does'nt work out where a cute girly hat or a headband, and wat u can also do is put acceseries in ur hair.Thats wat we gurls do best.
im sorry the same thing happened to me =\ i cut my hair and got layers so now it looks relee ugly nd weird nd it is rlee hard to do my hair b/c the layers are so short and my hair(w/o layers) is long i jus wash my hair evry other day, brush it and its getitn longer(w/o me evn doin nythin lol) dont do nythin stupid like extensions jus be patient nd find some cute new hairstyles that u can do w/ your cut dont straighten it too much straightening it like once in a while is okay but striahgtening too much can damge your hair keep it healthy and eat plent of vitamins and drink water!!=) hope this helps!
You can straighten it or curl it just get curling shampoo , curling condition , curling serum and scruch your hair
If you dont mind wearing hair extensions then i would reccomend that u get a sew in...Its when they french braid your hair and then sew the extensions into the braids...Its good because you wont have to mess with your own hair by putting heat on it and stuff like that cause that would cause it to grow slower and since your hair will be french braided itll grow fast

But if you do it then make sure that u get a good brand of hair extensions that will last so that u can keep getting it redone
the fastest way to make it grow faster is to keep it very healthy. use heat styling tools sparingly, and don't wash your hair every day. I would also recommend using a hair growth shampoo. and regular trimming also helps hair grow faster. Straight hair probably looks the longest, so maybe using a flat iron would help too.
To make it seem longer, insert hair extensions.

To make it grow faster, keep getting the ends of your hair once split-ends show up(:

straightening also gives it 2 inches extra of length.

    Good Luck. And at least those beautiful locks of hair went to a good cause (;

    Keep your head up!
I donated my hair to locks of love once too!

That was like 3 years ago and my hair is STILL short.

I heard that eating gelatin helps though.

Also you can straighten your hair.

    %26lt;3
    Good for you, honey.

You could buy extensions... but maintenance and cost are factors

I would buy an excellent gel (the kind that makes your hair look wet) and slick my hair back for that saucy wet look

It will hide the shortness and imperfections until you can grow a little back.

Note* it probably looks OK, but the shock of not seeing your long hair has shocked you

Different is relative to what you now have which we have not been informed. A good barber can design a regular taper cut or one of the short pomp styles-crew cut, ivy league(long crew cut), flat top crew cut- to fully suit most guy's head shape, face and neck shape, frontal hairline and facial features.

    ivy league(long crew cut):

    http://h.imagehost.org/0168/Kid_with_a_C

    http://a.imagehost.org/0785/Ivy_League_B

Some barbers describe an ivy league as a crew cut just long enough to be parted and combed to the side if so desired. An ivy league can also be worn with the hair brushed up off the forehead to form the short pomp front or with the short bangs brushed down on the forehead like a forward brush cut.

Grooming any of the short pomp styles- crew cut, ivy league, flat top crew cut- is basically the same and takes about a minute or two.

    1) Towel dry hair.

    2) Barely dip fingertips in jar of wax.

    3)Transfer wax to palms.

    4) Smooth palms over hair.

5)Brush hair off forehead to form short pomp front.

I would say cut it short. Tell the hairdresser you want it pretty short but ask him not to use the electric razor, just the scissors. It looks good, even when it grows out. Hope I helped. What is your favorite haircut or hairstyle for guys?

I'm creating a poster and I want it to be as accurate as possible. How much did a haircut cost in the 1950's?
In Houston, I paid a dollar, but I had to look for a barber who would cut hair for a dollar; many charged more. In small cities, I suspect that the cost was substantially less. At any rate, look at the link below; perhaps it will serve as a springboard for your research. How much did a haircut cost in the 1950's?
    I'm not sure about all that fancy stuff the gals got, but for a man it's as the the saying goes... ';A shave and a haircut, two bits.';

A bit being a quarter, therefore a shave and haircut was fifty cents.
In the 1950s, I paid anywhere from fifty cents to one dollar, depending on which barber shop I went to,

What is the best haircut for curly hair?

I want bangs but I don't want to straighten them everyday, can I wear them curly, do you have any other suggestions? I am not sure whether to keep my medium length hair, or too grow it long or cut it short? Please Help Me!?What is the best haircut for curly hair?
Well i think i can help...i have pretty wavy/curly hair myself so here's my thoughts:

i don't think theres just one perfect hair style for curly or wavy hair. i like mine layered and with side bangs and it works just fine without having to straiten them everyday...so ya u can wear ur bangs curly...and i would keep ur hair at medium to long because if u have curly hair and u cut it short its most likely going to become bushy and even more curly than it was before.

Good Luck!!!What is the best haircut for curly hair?
If your hair is curly, and you have bangs, YOU HAVE TO STRAIGHTEN THEM TO LOOK GOOD, I learned that the hard way.

So.. If you don't want to, don't get them.
If you want ';bangs'; you have to straighten them everyday. If you hate straightening them, get one of those two second-heat straighteners. Then its no chore at all to wave the wand over them. They even have battery powered ones!

Otherwise, to keep it all-natural, put your hair up into a high barrette to tame the curly Q's when the bangs aren't straightened.
You should definitely straighten your bangs, it takes no time at all. If not, grow them out. Whatever the length, make sure your hair is layered. This will bring out the curl, and make it look light and airy, instead of weighed down. Also, a lot of it is in the products you use. Make sure you are using product for your hair type.
I think curly hair would look great cut short, because long curly hair just looks messy. You could have a springy cute bob for a sleek look, or you could have wispy bangs brushing your eyelashes for a flirty look. Your choice :)
Keep your hair medium length. If its too short its gonna look poofy, and if its too long its gonna be like everywhere! So stick with your length! Oh and if you want bangs then you do haveto straighten them.

What is the wackiest haircut you have ever had?

have you ever had a patched hair cut, or something wackier? How did it happen? What is the wackiest haircut you have ever had?
when i was 5, i decided i didn't want my bangs anymore. so i went to the bathroom, and cut them all off. good times. :DWhat is the wackiest haircut you have ever had?
lmaoo i cut my bangs off lol and my mom and dad used to take me to a salon nd cut my hair 2 lik my nose lmaoo i looked like a boy :( bad times lmaooooo never gunna have that again....and i went thru hair colors [black, red, bright red, green, orange, yellow, and i have purple upstairs lmaooo] right now my hair is black and in the lower prt of my hair is blond :)
When I was five, I wanted spiked hair like the boys in my class. The hairstylist, thinking this was a bad idea because I am a girl, decided to ';feminize'; it by leaving bangs longer than the spiked part and leaving the whole backside of it long... Awesome.
for me, its not so much the haircut but the color that has made my hair 'wacky'. iv went through all the colours from silver, blue, pink(aviator)purple, bright red, orange. then all the 'normal' colours like black, brown now im finally back to blonde. i dont regret one colour.
i had half my head shaved the other had long back length hair. I was a 8 yr old girl. i want my hair to be curly so i took a round brush and rolled it in my hair. No one could get it out so they shaved it off.
when i was little i choped only one side of my hair off. lol

What is the best haircut for round/heart-shaped face and spiral thick curly hair?

No I won't do bangs since I mostly style my hair curly with mousse. I already layer it but sometimes my hair would look like a christmas tree. I like Debra Messing's hair style when she has it curly/wavy like on Will %26amp; Grace. Does anyone know the name of the haircut or of something similar so I can tell the hairdresser how to cut it?What is the best haircut for round/heart-shaped face and spiral thick curly hair?
The best haircut is to keep the length and cut in lots of layers. Also, to get the actress' haircut tell your stylist you would like an extended haircut with layers starting at mid-ear and gaining length. This will remove the 'christmas-tree' look and give your face shape its softness but remind her curly hair shrinks - happy hair hunting. What is the best haircut for round/heart-shaped face and spiral thick curly hair?
The best thing you can do is take a picture of the haircut with you to the hairdresser. Using a name is always dangerous because

different stylist might give the same name to different hairstyles.

Did you ever consider using hairstyles software? It let's you print-out a picture of yourself with the hairstyle you want.

What is a good haircut for long thin hair?

I'm a teenager with long (5 or 6 inches past my shoulders), light-medium blonde, semi-wavy hair that is very thin and side swept bangs. I'm getting a haircut and I would really love any suggestions for a LONG hair cut that would be flattering for my fine hair, and not TOO high maintenance (I usually wear it straightened or in little crimps like when you braid your hair and then undo it). I want to keep as much of the length as possible. thanks! What is a good haircut for long thin hair?
    Hello.

    Hope you are fine.

The Best Hairstyles for Thin, Long Hair:

Thin, long hair can be beautiful on some people, but on other people, long, thin hair just hangs limply and lifelessly. Long, thin hair can be easy to work with. You just need to know how to style it correctly so that it works for you instead of against you.

    Layer It

    1. Next time you go to your stylist, ask her to layer your hair. She will likely be able to tell you how much layering will help, but usually long layers can provide volume without a drastic change to your overall style. In addition, your hair will be much easier to manage if it is layered, and when you curl your hair, it will look more voluminous. Just make sure your hairstylist doesn't overdo the layers. Too many can make your hair look thinner than it already is.

    Curls

    2. Curling your hair adds volume. Typically, when you have long and thin hair, your curls tend to come out more quickly than other people's. Spritz your hair with hairspray, or add a dab of hair gel before you use the curling iron or put the curlers in. This will help hold your curls so they will stay in longer than usual.

    Parting Your Hair

    3. A central part can make your hair appear thinner, especially if your problem area is at your crown. Instead, part your hair to the side, or use a zigzag part to mask the problem.

    Extensions

    4. Consider human hair extensions. These can be rather costly, but clip-in human hair extensions can provide instant length, thickness and volume. Clip-in extensions are definitely recommended for thinner hair, as permanent extensions can pull your natural hair, making it become thinner when the extensions are taken out. Clip-in extensions are much more versatile and cheaper than paying over $1,000 to have fake hair woven into your head.

    Curling the Ends

    5. Curling the ends using a curling iron or curlers can add bounce and volume. Doing this every morning takes little time, and it can dramatically increase the lift and boost in your hair.

    Make Waves

    6. Waves, like curls, provide a significant boost to the hair. You can purchase a two-prong curling iron or a waving iron from any hair supply store, or you can braid slightly damp hair and sleep on it. Your hair will instantly appear thicker. You can then put your hair in a ponytail, leave it down or braid two braids, starting at your crown and attaching them together in the middle at the back of your head.

Hope this helps you . Thank you. What is a good haircut for long thin hair?

I would do layers and keep the bangs. Mine's just past my shoulders like that, and it's semi-wavy as well (curly if I don't blow-dry it), and I just straighten the bangs and go. Do a part way to the side of your head, and let the layers flip out. :)
I would just keep the length and get lots of layers, then make sure you use a good root volumizer spray, and body building shampoo and conditioner

What is that tickle that you get when you get a haircut?

I have noticed that whenever I have gotten my haircut (always) that whenever the clippers move along the back of my neck, it responds in my lower back and sort of tickles. Has anyone else experienced this? If you have, what could it be?What is that tickle that you get when you get a haircut?
    haha.

its the excess hair falling down your backWhat is that tickle that you get when you get a haircut?
Interesting; I get something similar to this because of a weak spot on my head. When the upper part of the back of my head (towards the left) is stroked gently, I get chills in my neck but also, it tends to make the lower left side of my back respond as well. It feels as if someone is stringing their finger down that spot on my back.

I'm really not sure what it is, but I'm just going to guess that it's the way certain nerves are connected. (personally I think it's quite a pleasant feeling :P )

For a round face, hair that is at least shoulder length will elongate your face. If you're going to wear bangs, wear light full bangs, half bangs, or side bangs.
side bangs layer or even mushroom hair cut where ur bangs r straight across n u hve long layers in the front dont do it in the bak
I would prob. say kept it long and maybe get layers, not very short ones cause then they will wave up and look like a mullet.

Try shoulder length and razor cut for an edge.

i have long curly hair and sidebangs... i was just wondering, is it better to have layers or anything else like that or wat? wat kind of haircut is best? What is the best haircut for curly hair?
layers.. definitely. also if its frizzy/curly side bangs will become a pain in the @ss to straighten everyday so I'd ask to get your hair thinned out a bit so it's not so heavy, but definietly layers! What is the best haircut for curly hair?
keep your hair long. when cut short, curly hair has the tendency to become very frizzy. you should stay away from the bangs for the same reason. a side part may also make your head look smaller, because people with curly hair usually have larger looking heads due to their rather large hair. trust me, i look like a poodle who got shot by lightning when i wake up if i don't straighten my short, but curly hair.
Well if you get layers with curly hair its basically a waste of your money because you wont be able to tell if you have it but if you straighten it, it will look cute ... just leave your hair long and in ringlets.
try getting it shorter it will be lighter and cute .. mabey you could thin it out

What is a good haircut to go with my face shape?

I have a round face. I'm 15. I am persian, so my forehead is kinda small. I have thick black hair, which is at the moment quite long. I'd like to get side bangs like all my friends have, but they say I shouldn't since my forehead is too small in comparison to theirs. Are they right? If so, how should I cut my hair? I'd like it long. Also, is there any way I can get it thinner or more manageable? Thanks! What is a good haircut to go with my face shape?
Really though you have described what your face looks like, it would me much much more easier to see your face to know what style would go with you. Side bangs, hmmm...that is a little hard to predict of how it would go. i wanted side bangs too but my friends told me not to get them and i went with their instinct and glad i didn't...but anyways...

Why don't you choose some hair styles you like and cut and bring them to your hair stylist. Any style that you think would look good. dont go for a style cuz all your friends have it, go for a style you like. you can be original! not the same!!! think of it that way!

make sure that the hair style you find, that when you need to style them, they are in the amount of time you want to take the time to do your hair. Like, you may just want a style that will only take you 10 to 15 minutes to do or something along the lines there.

you could probably ask your hair style what would be a good style for you.

For thinner or more manageable????? the longer and thicker the harder it is to handle. Really, i had long hair too about to where my butt was! my mom made me cut it up to just a couple inches past my shoulders and i like it. My hair is thick and tangles easy. I try to go out and find some special shampoos, conditioners, gels and all that will help with detanglying and everything. you could do the same! Well good luck with your hair cut!

    SOME QUICK OTHER TIPS:

if you do not like your hair the way it is, dont be afraid to tell ur hair stylist. she may be able to make some quick changes to help fix it.

If you feel like she is going to cut your hair to short, tell her before she does. Because you can always cut your hair shorter, but it takes much longer to grow back.

ask her if there are any kind of hair products to help make your hair easier to deal with besides cutting it. try them out first. if they dont seem to help you, then ask your parents and the hair stylist the next time about thinning out your hair and how it would do.

sometimes i use a really big paddle brush to help comb out my hair and ones that have soft teeth sorta...rubbery like. not complete hard hurting plastic! ugh!

    good luck!

What are some good haircut for a heart shaped face?

Pictures would be great! I have kinda long hair, i don't particularly want bangs, but they would be ok, nothing tooooo short either, thanks so much! What are some good haircut for a heart shaped face?
The goal with your hairstyle will be to create the appearance of balance. So you will want to choose hairstyles that will give the illusion of a narrower forehead, and create the appearance of a wider chin. Soft bangs swept to the side will diminish the width of your forehead while drawing attention to your eyes and cheekbones and away from your prominent chin. You will want to find hairstyles that have the most weight at or below your chin. An example of this would be a chin or shoulder length bob. Wearing a bob shorter than the length of your jaw line will only make you chin look smaller. Hairstyles that sit just above the shoulders with long soft layers that flip out away from your face is another great look for you. Long hair looks great on you as well, however you will want to look for hairstyles that have longer layers the length of your chin to add fullness to that part of your face

color it. color it. color it.

highlights can make any bad hair style look amazing.
wait for it to grow out or wear a hat.
lol i cry!! i don't say anything to the person because i dont want to hurt their feelings... my hair dresser does an okay job with my hair but i went to a different stylist once and they cut my hair really short and i have really curly hair so i had to straighten it all the time until it grew. it was some messed up scene hair cut (i just asked her to trim off the ends!!) and it was short in the back it was horrible lol. after it grew i went to another hairdresser who was supposed to be good with curly hair but all she did was cut the back short again and she cut it into choppy layers at the back so it stuck up when i straightened it and it pissed me off!!! now i only trust myself to cut it because i usually only want the ends trimmed a bit and i haven't found a hairdresser who can do that without screwing it up i only let my hairdresser thin my hair out and straighten it for me :)

How do can you tell when your hair needs a haircut?

I usually keep up with haircuts, but I haven't really had time to get one lately. I have been cutting the split ends while i see them. The split ends haven't been that bad yet.How do can you tell when your hair needs a haircut?
you should get a trim every 2-3 months. if your ends are getting dry or you don't remember the last time you got one, you should probably get a trim. How do can you tell when your hair needs a haircut?
    A mirror perhaps?

How do you know when it is time for a haircut?

I got my hair layered four months ago and now it looks like the layers are coming out of my hair and my hair is also starting to look a little dull. I don't know if it is because I put alot of heat on it during my last school year or my hair being puffy all together makes it like that. But my question to you is how do you know when it is time for a haircut? How do you know when it is time for a haircut?
i think its time for a haircut when u dont like it at the length it curently is,or u see dead ends.maybe a trim will work, and for the dullness i use hearbel essance

and i love the shine in my hair :DHow do you know when it is time for a haircut?
four months, its about time for a cut, especially if you have layers... for me, i know its time for a cut when my hair just looks puffed out and dull and starts to feel dry. edit : if you go for a trim just tell them you want to keep the layers. they will not give you a blunt cut unless you ask for one.
Well personally I know it's time for a haircut when there's an awful lot of split ends :) and that happens often as I also straighten my hair regularly
I guess since your hair looks dull.

How long does bleach last? And can you get a haircut the day you bleach your hair?

    My hair grows pretty fast.

And I want to get a haircut right away. I might bleach my hair tomorrow so no time for haircut.. can I still get a haircut though? How long does bleach last? And can you get a haircut the day you bleach your hair?
bleach is permanent. it's not like dye where it stains the hair. what bleach does is REMOVE color from your hair.

it might actually be good for your hair to get it cut after bleaching it. at a salon they have really good products that heal hair. and also, bleaching it may cause some split ends and whatnot so that way you could get 'em trimmed off.

make sure you use a lot of conditioner if you bleach it no matter what though. :)

EDIT: woahh damn the person before me said basically the exact thing. i didn't try to copy their answer or anything, just fyi. lmao. How long does bleach last? And can you get a haircut the day you bleach your hair?
hair bleaching is permanent. just like if you bleach your clothes the color is gone forever. bleach is not like regular hair dye, which can wash out and fade. bleach strips hair of its color pigment. so yeah its permanent.

and yeah i would actually recomend getting a hair cut either before or after bleaching, bc bleaching damages hair, and cutting it makes it healthier. good luck
Bleach is permanent, and will be there until it grows out and you cut it off, or you re-dye it. And yes you can cut it, you just can't add any more product with chemical in it for at least a week (i/e other dyes, relaxers, perms, etc.)
bleach is permanent, like when you get bleach on your clothes, it's not a stain that you could maybe get out, it stays there.

and yes, you can get a haircut the same day you bleach/dye/whatever your hair
just so you know, when you bleach your hair will fall out a lot and break off. it happened to my friend but its not too big of a deal. a bleach lasts a verrrry long time.

so i would get a cut first.

    good luck =]

Are there any men out there that have had there haircut at a Ladies hairdressers?

I have seen a few women having their haircut at the barbers but has any man had there haircut at a ladies salon? If so whats it like? Is it weird? Do they mind? Are there any men out there that have had there haircut at a Ladies hairdressers?
My daughter works in a salon and they have men coming in regularly. There is no mens barber here in our very small town of 1,000 people so that would help to explain it.Are there any men out there that have had there haircut at a Ladies hairdressers?
The stench of the hair dyes almost makes your thoat gag. No razor around the ears and neck, and the gal customers do give a glance at your. But the salons are open on Monday, a barber is not.
My husband gets what little hair he has left cut in a ladies salon. When I have been getting my hair done, there are often men of all ages pop in for a hair cut.
I work in a hairdresser and we have lots of men come in and have their haircut with us. Hairdressers are just as well trained as any barber, theres nothing unusual about doing this
    Nah it makes no difference.

You just get pampered more, depending on the salon you go to.
my brother always has his done at a ladies salon.... never asked him, but i don't think he minds it, and i don't think the people who work there mind....

Is it OK to do hair color immediately after a haircut?

It would be my first time to color my hair.

Which is better for the hair?

Hair color before the haircut, or after the haircut?

I will have the haircut done at a hair salon

but I'm doing the hair color myself as I bought this

ammonia-free and resorcinol-free permanent hair colorant

    with active vegetable ingredients.

Hope I get a lot of responses today

because today is my only free time to do it.

Thanks! Is it OK to do hair color immediately after a haircut?
i would probably dye it before,

so the hair dresser can cut off any damage or split ends that may have arose from dying.

or you may want to dye it after so there is less hair (because it was cut) to dye and more coverage for the rest of your hair.

although is suppose it doesnt really matter.

i have dyed my hair the day before a hair cut, and have also dyed it about a month after one at times. Is it OK to do hair color immediately after a haircut?
before. the couloring agents r really harsh so if u do it after u coulor then the drying stuff will get into the newly chopped hair and give u split ends
I used to dye my hair a lot and I would always get it cut after the colour
If its your first time, then its best to colour first.
It is best to colour the hair FIRST, then have it cut! Goodluck!
Yes it's fine...Not like your hair is going to fall out or anything.
    id do it before

What would you do if you got overcharged for a haircut?

I went to get my haircut yesterday, when I walked in I aked how much it was for a shampoo, cut, and style. The woman told me it was $38. So she started to do my hair, she thought the cut I aksed for would be better done by the owner, so the owner introduced herself and did my hair.I did not like the cut, I had to explain it over and over again. She did not staighten my hair well, I told her I could haev done a better job at home. She got pissed when I asked her to do it better. SHe finished my hair, with an attitude! When she went to charge me, the recepit said $55! I got pissed off and asked why, I refused to pay any more than the sign said! Was I wrong? She did a bad job then got an attitude, then added on to the price for the heck of it! I felt that i was being messed with! What would you do if you got overcharged for a haircut?
The fact that they quoted you $38.00 to begin with is what they should stick to, even if they switched your cut to have the owner do it -- If the charge was higher to have the owner cut your hair, then that should have been stated up front before the owner even started cutting your hair.

Hair salon's do need to protect themselves from everyone coming in and saying that they don't like the cut. I hear you, however, as I've been pissed off also at some of the cuts that I've been given.

You did right by paying only what you were originally quoted.

One way to get the salon back is to tell everyone you know in that town what happened, name the salon. And then ask everyone you tell to pass it on.What would you do if you got overcharged for a haircut?
They should have told you that the price would be different because you were getting a different stylist. Once they quote you a price they have to honor it unless you get a extra service. They still need to let you know the new price.
There are very few hard and fast regulations regarding hair salons and how they conduct business. However, you are paying for a service and if that service is not done correctly, you have every right to complain, to report them to the Better Business Bureau, and to ultimately take legal action against them if you are not properly treated and/or compensated in the end. And yes, you were being messed with. The customer comes first, period, regardless of the industry.
I would not pay unless they took some money off. If they didn't, I would have walked right out and not pay a dime.
Sue them. I'm pretty sure there's a law that says they can't do that. False Marketing or something.

And, besides. With the money you'd get, that's worth quite a few haircuts...
It's happened to me. Last time I just wanted a trim in the front, like the bang area. She charged me for a full hair cut,but to top it off she was talking on the phone and cut a piece of my hair off that should not have been cut.So she royally screwed my hair up and charged me for it. I didn't realize she screwed up until I got home. I'm not going back to her. This happened a little over a month ago and I'm still pissed because this is going to take a long time to grow out. I'm not stepping foot in a salon ever again. Anyways, no you were not wrong. Oh yeah, if you live in MO. don't go to Olivia Brooke hair salon or The Spa't hair salon. They really suck!
she probably tacked on her tip just to be a *****, cause she knew you weren't gunna give her one. i'd give her the $38 dollars and never go back! i live in california and a good hairstylist one thats hip to the game is charging like 20 to 25 bucks for a shampoo, cut and style. Yea some of those ****** are nasty @ the salon. No, you weren't wrong!
