What do hairdressers think when you bring in a picture for your haircut?

I've always been nervous about bringing in a picture to a hairdresser's...I guess I'm afraid they'll think I'm stupid, or that they can't possibly do that haircut. Maybe it's just me who thinks it's weird. What's your opinion on it? Help me get over this weird phobia!What do hairdressers think when you bring in a picture for your haircut?
A picture is fine.

Like they say a picture is worth a million words.


You would feel bad if you couldn't properly communicate what you were expecting and ended up with something you hated.


Don't be nervous. Just tell your hair stylist you really love the cut and style and want your hair to look like that. It's not weird.. It'll be okay promise.





And if your hair girl doesn't understand well she's just lost a client.

They like it a lot actually! It gives them more of an idea of what you want instead of them having to guess what you want from how you describe it. Most good hairdressers will be straightforward with you and let you know if they don't think that they will look right and explain to you how to fix it to fit your face better.





Bottom line is, bring in a picture and be confident about it, it will only help the process. :)

it helps soooo much. when a client does not bring thier own picture i find a picture in a styling book or i have made my own book of pictures that i cutt out of magazines. pictures help soooo much with the consultation process. not only should pictures show us what you want or like, but also what you don now want or do not like. pictures help sooo much.
Lots of people bring in pictures,Bringing in a Picture really helps alot, as It helps them with what you want done to your hair, so they don't do the wrong thing, or the wrong cut.


Hairstylist's can bascially do any type of haircut, Hairstyle you want...So they're no need to worry about that...
you know what they say, a picture says a thousand words. bring the picture! stylists love pictures. it tells what you really want. even one wrong word to describe a haircut can give you a cut you didn't necessarily want. pictures are always good.
yeah i use to get freaked out by it aswell. i thought they would think i was lame and i had to copy of someone elses hair style, but then when i did bring one in she honestly couldnt care less.


and anyway, who cares what they think your the one paying them and you only see them every two months or whatever
it'll help them out.


but if you go to a poor hairfresser and they never done that hairdo before, than they will probably panic inside.,


however,each stylish has their own style, so they will do something of their style with the picture you brought
I always was self contious about it. But I brought in a picture of a random girl on google to my local hair place and I was up front when asked me what do u have in mind I said This might sound weird but I found this nice hair cut on line
I'm a hairstylist, and I actually really appreciate when someone brings in a picture...it helps me to see exactly what they want, so there aren't any misunderstandings.
it helps them out a lot, instead of trying to explain it to them and then it comes out wrong
